Waratah Brass Academy Band (WBAB) was formed in 2011 to address a need in the local community for children to have the opportunity to learn to play a brass or percussion instrument. From small things….big things grow! WBAB are now a competent, autonomous brass band operating within the Waratah Brass organisation. With a focus on new learners, intermediate players and those looking for a vehicle to hone their music skills, the band is progressive and welcoming.
Therese Hayden is the Musical Director of WBAB. Therese is a Life Member of the Waratah Brass organisation and is dedicated to sharing her knowledge and love of brass bands and brass music with WBAB members. Therese is supported by a group of Waratah Brass members, all working to share their knowledge and passion for bands with those wishing to learn.
Instruments, music and resources are provided to members at an affordable term rate of $40. Family discounts apply. The band rehearses every Tuesday evening during school term and performs regularly at concerts, competitions and community events.
