Rochelle Buckton was presented with her life membership and commemorative plaque on 20th October, 2024. The following is a excerpt of the speech given at her endorsement:

Rochelle had a period away from the band whilst traveling, living and working overseas, but made her way back to Waratah on her return to Australia. In her work life Rochelle works in office administration and IT support. Since returning to the band Rochelle has been a constant on the Waratah Brass committee, holding various positions, including band President, Secretary, committee member and all-round IT guru. She has always been supportive of the band can be relied on for taking on all kinds of tasks. Rochelle has a real passion for Waratah Brass Academy Band and has encouraged her daughters to follow in her footsteps and learn to play. She is a dedicated bandsperson and fierce advocate for the growth of novice players. Congratulations Rochelle on this well-deserved Life Membership.
